ABOUT CASANOOAH, INC. http://www.casanooah.com

The Casanooah showroom features authentic handmade Japanese ceramics and garden ornaments that originate from two of Japans most historical cities Nara, Japans oldest city, and Karatsu, the city that links Japan to China.

JAPANESE CERAMIC POTTERY
Featuring Karatsu, Bizen, and Shigaraki styles of Japanese pottery, Casanooah offers the finest and widest selection of ceramics. We work with acclaimed artists who are known for their impressive exhibitions and have received countless accolades for their work in Japan. Fit for royalty, many of the pieces have been presented to generations of the emperors family. And although the pottery is Japanese in origin, it incorporates seamlessly with any décor.

Casanooah features custom ceramic busts, as well as a wide variety of styles and sizes to display in either the interior or exterior of the home. We also feature a special collection of Japanese tea ceremony cups (macchawan); they season with use and enhance the flavor of tea over time.

Casanooahs Karatsu ware artist, Masamichi Nakano, from Tochi Nakano kiln, is a famous ceramic sculptor known for his elaborate and delicate workmanship.

ZEN GARDEN DESIGN
A zen garden in the backyard of the showroom creates a peaceful environment for shoppers. Designed by Japanese garden designer, Yoshihiko Kawatake, it is adorned with antique hand carved lanterns, chozubachi (stone water basins) and garden rocks all of which are available for purchase.

In addition to providing southern Californias most exclusive collection of antique garden ornaments, Casanooah uniquely cooperates with Kawatake to design any type of Japanese garden for any type of landscape. Casanooah features tsubo niwa (enclosed-garden), which can be a small sanctuary in a garden or even in any interior space.

Please visit us at the showroom in Newport Beach, California. We are always available to
answer your questions.

Visit Japan in Autumn and Winter to get colourful photo opportunities around every corner. Fall foliage is wonderful in mountains, forests, gorges, national parks and city gardens, if you know where to go. Winter is good for bird watching, snow festivals, ice sculptures and spectacular snow country scenery. Best seen if you have your own transport and know where to go. A good reason why people see more of Japan when they join a small group escorted tour with Destination Management – Toursgallery.com who provide a full size luxury private charter coach , even for only 15 guests.

Also visit the Destination Management YouTube site to see our Spring Summer photos including cherry blossom, wisteria, iris and azalea gardens, pottery, art and crafts.

Toursgallery escorted small group tours for 10 to 20 guests are all created exclusively by Ken Osetroff & Mayumi Gray. YouTube videos produced by Anna Osetroff & Ben Jurss.

This is the promotional video for my first full book, ‘Japan From The Inside’. The book contains collected photos and writings on Japan from 2003 to 2008.

This clip includes images from Tokyo, Yokohama, Hiroshima, Kamakura, Nagano, Kyoto and Okinawa, to name a few of the places featured in the book, which also has sections on the people, culture and nature of Japan. It ends with brief, previously unreleased footage shot at a traditional summer festival (‘matsuri’) in Tokyo.

”Japan From The Inside’ is a window into a land of superlatives.

Experience the world’s biggest city, its busiest train station, recovery from the first atomic bomb, or the planet’s longest life expectancies in this country steeped in tradition yet eye-poppingly modern at the same time.’ (from blurb.com)
